What do you enjoy about teaching/your job?
I enjoy seeing how student’s passion for their work develops, their ideas creation and the diverse nature of what they produce.
The one-on-one relationships I have with undergraduate and post graduate students.
Working in collaboration with creative practitioners, utilising our individual craft and aesthetic skills to produce work.
What do you love about your area?
Moving Image can enhance each new project’s meaning through a range of creative filmmaking strategies e.g.editing, cinematography, writing, sound design, producing and directing. Like all areas of creative work, these tools and the skills used to produce this work is what excites me about filmmaking.

I grew up in a world of politics and change, with a Design & Arts education. My first job after arts school was an assistant film editor on a documentary series for Australia’s National broadcaster. After 5 years I gained a strong grounding in craft skills, and became a freelancer.
I have worked variously as Director, producer, editor, write and sound design for feature film & TV drama and documentary, also commercial production.
I also taught Editing at the Australian Film, Television & Radio School for 5 years and started teaching filmmaking at Media Arts in 2003.
